Historic Barn Complex, Westerdale, North Yorkshire

The Park Authority commissioned Brundell Woolley to carry out a detailed site visit and prepare a tender evaluation document following the submission of a tender by a local specialist building contractor. The scope of works entailed essential repairs to the roof coverings and structures, repairs to stone elevations and reinstatement of windows and doors.

This important collection of vernacular buildings include the byre, with hayloft over, dating back to 1793, a barn, a wheel house, turf house and pigsty.

The project was subject to a grant award via DEFRA’s Higher Level Stewardship scheme for repairs to farm buildings.
