Lincolnshire Co-operative Foodstore, Caistor

The construction of a new food store and two small retail units in the historic Lincolnshire town of Caistor. A derelict public house was comprehensively refurbished and incorporated into an extended new building footprint.

The project was notable for the discovery of a Roman Cemetery on the site containing 46 sets of human remains dating back to the 4th Century.

The scheme was awarded a Civic Award Plaque in recognition of the care taken to preserve the historic facade of the old Talbot Inn.
