Maurice Dobson Heritage Museum, Darfield, South Yorkshire

This semi-derelict 18th C listed building was subject to a comprehensive scheme of restoration and refurbishment to provide a local heritage and amenity centre. The elevations were re-rendered with a lime render, the roof re-covered in stone slates and the interiors fully refurbished.

The refurbished building incorporated a café and provided display space for a collection of domestic bygones, themed displays of local life from times past and antiques. The café area also doubles up as a gallery space and arts workshop.

The project was grant aided by the HLF and the European Regional Development Fund
