Repairs to Garden Structures, Elvaston Castle Country Park, Derbyshire

The gardens surrounding Elvaston castle extend to over 200 acres and comprise woodlands, formal gardens and parkland. They are also home to an important collection of follies, garden buildings and structures including walled and nursery gardens, many of which are listed.

English Heritage, recognising the importance of the gardens and the urgent need for repairs, awarded a £456,000 grant for essential works to four key historic structures, namely the Golden Gates and associated flanking stone walls, the Moorish Temple, Nursery Garden walls and a brick ha-ha boundary wall.
